Tokyo, Feb. 17 (Jiji Press)--Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> has resumed operations at a vehicle plant in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, following a suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak, company officials said Monday.
Production, however, will be limited due to a shortfall of workers available, the officials said, adding that parts stored in inventories will be used for the time being.

Doniesienia magazynu Car and Driver są co najmniej interesujące – limuzyna Japończyków ma mieć napęd na tył oraz rzędowy, sześciocylindrowy silnik. Najwyraźniej inżynierowie zapatrzyli się na BMW, które wykorzystuje (coraz rzadziej, ale jednak) ten przepis na tworzenie samochodu. Nowa Mazda 6 – przynajmniej według informacji z początku marca – ma pojawić się na rynku pod koniec 2022 roku.

Informacje przekazane przez czasopismo potwierdzają plotki, które ukazały się w zeszłym roku w japońskim magazynie Best Car. Wówczas ujawniono jeszcze obecność instalacji elektrycznej 48 V (imitujący pracę jednostki wysokoprężnej Skyactiv-X wykorzystuje 24V). Co więcej, silnik może mieć nawet 350 koni mechanicznych.

O większej, sześciocylindrowej jednostce napędowej wiadomo było już wcześniej. Japończycy informowali o niej w raporcie przeznaczonym dla inwestorów w marcu 2019 roku. Silnik on się pojawić do 2025 roku.

Hiroshima, April 22 (Jiji Press)--Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> said Wednesday it will suspend operations at all of its plants and offices in Japan from April 27 to May 1 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The temporary closures will affect over 90 pct, or some 21,000, of Mazda employees.

Mazda to Raise Electric Vehicle Target for 2030
Tokyo, Feb. 15 (Jiji Press)--Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> will raise its target for the share of electric vehicles in all of its automobiles produced in 2030 from the current 5 pct, its president, Akira Marumoto, said Monday.

Mazda to Launch 13 Electrified Models by 2025
Tokyo, June 17 (Jiji Press)--Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> said Thursday that it plans to launch 13 electrified vehicle models globally by 2025, starting next year.
The new models are three electric vehicles, five gas-electric hybrids and five plug-in hybrids, the Japanese automaker said.
