Przedstawiciele "Faktu" odwiedzili katarski lokal McDonald's. Czy tam też panuje ekstremalna drożyzna, jak choćby na stadionach, na których rozgrywane są mecze mistrzostw świata 2022? Odpowiedź na to pytanie stanowi spore zaskoczenie.

Bardzo dużo mówi się o drożyźnie podczas mundialu 2022 w Katarze. Drogie jest między innymi piwo, które można nabyć wyłącznie w strefach kibica. Na stadionach natomiast sporo trzeba zapłacić m.in. za... butelkę wody. Cena, w przeliczeniu na złotówki, to aż 12,50 zł/0,5 l

A jak sytuacja wygląda w przypadku McDonald's? "Fakt" odwiedził jeden z katarskich punktów tej popularnej sieciówki. Oczywiście reporterzy przed wizytą byli wręcz przekonani, że będzie dużo drożej niż w Polsce.

Tymczasem nie jest wcale tak źle! "Kanapka McRoyal, frytki plus napój kosztują ok. 22 QAR. W przeliczeniu na naszą walutę, kibice piłki nożnej, którzy zjechali do Kataru, zapłacą za zestaw ok. 27 zł. W Polsce kosztuje prawie tyle samo!" - zauważa tabloid.

Takie ceny obowiązują w katarskim McDonald's
Podwójny Bic Mac z napojem i frytkami to wydatek na poziomie około 26 zł. Za Chicken Maca (podwójny kotlet drobiowy) trzeba zapłacić ok. 27 zł.

W katarskim McDonald's można otrzymać również m.in. McArabia. To pozycja, która nie jest dostępna w Polsce.

Wyjaśnijmy, że to dwa kotleciki z kurczaka, sałata, pomidor, cebula i sos czosnkowy w chlebku pita, które można zamówić też w Egipcie czy w Maroko. W Katarze za taką przyjemność trzeba zapłacić ok. 27 zł - podkreśla "Fakt".

Generalnie ceny w katarskich restauracjach McDonald's są zbliżone do tych, które mamy w Polsce. Tutaj zatem przejawów ekstremalnej drożyzny nie widać. Podobnie jak na stacjach paliw, gdzie jest dużo taniej niż w naszym kraju.

Cena benzyny lepszej jakości (gold) to 2,1 riala za litr, a trochę gorszej (silver) 2 riale. W przeliczeniu oznacza to odpowiednio 2,6 zł lub 2,5 zł za litr. W Polsce trzeba więc za to samo wydać niemal trzy razy tyle - donosi portal WP SportoweFakty.

Russia’s McDonald’s successor replacing Big Mac with 'Big Hit'

MOSCOW (Reuters) -Starved of Big Macs since McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD) closed its Russian restaurants in March, Russians will from next year be treated to an alternative from the burger chain's successor - the "Big Hit".

Russian fast food chain Vkusno & tochka, or "Tasty & that's it", on Monday said the Big Hit, complete with a new signature sauce, will be available from February and a similar product to the McDonald’s Happy Meal will be making a comeback as "Kids' Combo".

McDonald's closed its Russian restaurants soon after Moscow sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in February, eventually selling to a local licensee, Alexander Govor, who unveiled the new brand in June.

Vkusno & tochka CEO Oleg Paroev said the company has overcome supply chain issues and was growing its share in a market traditionally dominated by foreign chains.

There are restrictions on the colours and products that Vkusno & tochka can use. It can no longer serve Big Macs, nor use the McDonald's-style sauce, Paroev explained.

"(The Big Hit) has its own sauce and a slightly different composition, a different layout of ingredients, but in terms of quality and taste it is very good," Paroev said.

"We hope Russian consumers will appreciate the Big Hit and that it will become as much of a symbol of Vkusno & tochka as the Big Mac is a symbol of McDonald's.

GOVOR'S ACQUISITIONS

Since acquiring Russia's McDonald's restaurants, Govor has snapped up Finnish packaging company Huhtamaki's Russian business and a logistics firm, set to be renamed "Logistics & that's it".

On Monday, he said Vkusno & tochka may try to find a partner to produce children's toys for the Kids' Combo, which currently include a free book, but that his M&A appetite had been satisfied for now.

Vkusno & tochka and meat producer Miratorg on Monday said they had agreed to build a factory in 2023 to supply the chain with chips and potato wedges. Some Vkusno & tochka restaurants had to take fries off the menu this year when faced with a potato shortage.

"We were simply forced to do this," Govor said. "We were looking for partners because some of our suppliers, including of potatoes, have doubled their prices from February to today."

Dla fana fast foodów nie ma nic gorszego niż zimne i gumowate frytki. Niestety nawet w McDonald's smażona przekąska potrafi czasem rozczarować. Była pracownica znanej sieci podzieliła się trikiem, dzięki któremu zamawiane frytki będą zawsze gorące i chrupiące. To zaskakująco proste!

Chyba każdy lubi czasem przekąsić coś pysznie niezdrowego. Na mały głód najlepiej sprawdzają się frytki, a te z McDonald's przez wielu uważane są za ideał. Cienkie, złociste i chrupiące - trudno im się oprzeć.

Niestety nie zawsze restauracje stają na wysokości zadania i czasami zdarza im się wydać frytki, które nie są już pierwszej świeżości. Dzieje się tak, gdy porcje są przygotowywane przedwcześnie i stygną w oczekiwaniu na klienta. Zimne frytki stają się gumowate i po prostu niesmaczne. Jak uniknąć takiego rozczarowania?

Jednym ze sposobów jest poproszenie o frytki bez soli. Pracownik fast foodu, który otrzyma takie zamówienie, będzie zmuszony usmażyć nową porcję, ponieważ wszystkie przygotowane wcześniej frytki są zazwyczaj posolone. Ta metoda jest jednak uciążliwa dla personelu.

Dessy Joseph, była pracownica McDonald's prowadząca popularny kanał na TikToku zdradziła, że istnieje inny sposób na upewnienie się, że zamówione przez nas frytki będą świeże i gorące. Jest o wiele łatwiejszy, a jednocześnie nie utrudnia i tak niełatwej pracy ludzi zajmujących się obsługą zamówień.

Prośba o frytki bez soli jest po prostu denerwująca. Po prostu powiedz, że chcesz, aby frytki były świeżo wrzucone do oleju. W 9 na 10 przypadków na kuchni mają już świeżo usmażone frytki - tłumaczy użytkowniczka TikToka.

Tym sposobem otrzymamy frytki świeżo wyjęte z oleju, a nie te, które już czekają na swojej kolej w czerwonych kartonikach. Prawda, że proste?

McDonald's w Ottawie w Kanadzie został okrzyknięty "najgorszym na świecie". Wszystko przez regularne bójki i wizyty policji. W ciągu roku było ich ponad 800, w tym jedna z udziałem... szopa pracza. Po 40 latach działania, restauracja szybkiej obsługi zostaje zamknięta. Powodem mają być jednak nie problemy z nerwowymi klientami, a z lokalem, w którym znajduje się najgorszy McDonald's na świecie.

Big Macs, McFlurry's and the Golden Arches were all a no go, as was the McDonald's-style Big Mac sauce.

"They've completely revamped it," student Mikhail Proskunenkov told Reuters on Wednesday. "They've added more greens, changed the sauce. In principle, it's cool and different, but I still miss the old Big Mac."

Another customer, Edgar Vardanyan, was lavish in his praise: "I can 100% say that it has got better. I think the ingredients have changed a little, the sauce has become tastier."

Vkusno & tochka CEO Oleg Paroev said, when announcing the new product in December, that the sauce and layout of ingredients would change.

But his company's strategy has also been to focus on continuity, with advertising slogans such as "The same double cheeseburger" and the chain's new logo - a stylised burger with two fries - resembling the letter 'M'.

Not everyone was sold on the new burger.

"The sauce, which was the Big Mac's main quality, has become a little more sweet and sour," said Vladimir, a student.

"And the bun has basically got worse. It has become softer somehow, not so flavourful, and so the Big Hit falls apart more as you eat it."

McDonald's reiterated as top pick at Oppenheimer as 'resilient business model is battle-tested'

Oppenheimer analysts raised the firm's price target on McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) to $315 per share from $304, maintaining an Outperform rating on the stock in a note Thursday.

The analysts also reinforced the firm's top pick status on McDonald's despite shares rising to all-time highs. MCD is currently trading at $288.15, up 1% on the day.

"Our updated analysis highlights MCD as one of the rarities in our restaurant coverage where we've identified upside to Street's EPS in '23E/'24E," wrote the analysts.

They also stated that the fast food chain's resilient business model is battle-tested and adds unique protection to financial forecasts if the macro unexpectedly deteriorates.

"The investment story is also armed with emerging catalysts via an accelerating unit growth algorithm and leaner G&A strategy not properly reflected in consensus," they added. "Forward P/E of 24x doesn't represent a valuation discount, but MCD's strengthening fundamentals, faster growth and candidacy for positive earnings revisions keeps us attracted."

NEW YORK (Reuters) - McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) is toasting buns and melting cheese to improve the quality of its Big Mac and other burgers as it looks to boost sales.

Big Macs are also getting more sauce, and white onions are topping patties while they're still hot on the grill, according to a company statement on Monday.

"We saw the opportunity to make a few changes in our kitchens to make them even more delicious," Tariq Hassan, McDonald's USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, said in a statement.

To promote the new burgers, McDonald's is bringing back its "Hamburglar" character, which was originally used in the 1970s and '80s but was retired in the early 2000s except for a 2015 appearance to promote a limited-time sirloin burger, according to media reports.

Earlier this month, McDonald's began laying off hundreds of corporate U.S. employees amid a broader restructuring.

Even so, visits to the chain have been rising as it pushes meal deals with celebrities. Wall Street analysts expect comparable sales rise this quarter, with three brokerages lifting their price targets ahead of company earnings on April 25.

The burger changes have already been rolled out in Australia, Canada and Belgium. In the United States, they are available in some cities in California, Washington, Arizona and other Western states. They will be in effect nationwide by 2024, the company said.

Investing.com -- McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) posted better-than-expected income and sales in the first quarter, thanks to resilient customer demand and price increases that helped offset elevated expenses.

The global burger chain reported a 12.6% jump in comparable sales during the three months ended on March 31, which the Big Mac maker attributed to elevated menu prices, as well as growth in its digital operations. Bloomberg consensus estimates had called for a sales rise of 8.19%.

Despite the higher prices and broader inflationary pressures that have been threatening to weigh on broader economic activity, diners still flocked to the group's restaurants, McDonald's said.

"Amidst a challenging operating environment, customer demand for McDonald’s Brand remains strong,” said president and chief executive officer Chris Kempczinski in a statement.

Total revenues also moved higher by 4.1% year-on-year to just under $5.90 billion, topping estimates of $5.57B. However, total operating costs and expenses inched up to $3.37B, while it also booked a pre-tax restructuring charge of $180 million.

Operating profit subsequently came in at $2.53B, a gain of 10% compared to the same period last year and above projections of $2.45B. Adjusted earnings per share of $2.63 also beat expectations of $2.33.
