Duński producent piwa prezentuje na światowym szczycie burmistrzów (World Mayors Summit) w Kopenhadze w dwie prototypowe butelki wykonane z włókna drzewnego i wyłożone barierą polimerową, informuje Bloomberg.

Firma współpracuje również z Coca-Colą, Absolut Vodka i gigantem kosmetycznym L'Oreal w ramach projektu, którego celem jest opracowanie bardziej zrównoważonych alternatyw opakowań.

Carlsberg Falls After Dropping Guidance, Stops Selling in Russia

Investing.com – Carlsberg (CSE:CARLb) stock traded 5% lower in Copenhagen Thursday after the brewer dropped its annual guidance, owing to uncertainty in Russia, one of its largest markets.

It said it will stop selling its flagship brand Carlsberg in the Communist country while its Russian unit, Baltika Breweries, will be run as a separate business.

Russia and Ukraine accounted for around 13% of the Group’s revenue in 2021.

Carlsberg said the ongoing conflict between the two countries “will negatively impact the Group’s financial results for 2022” and warned there could be write-downs on assets while it undertakes a full review of its business in Russia.

The company said the markets outside Russia and Ukraine are currently witnessing a limited business impact but the indirect impact from rising commodity prices, including energy, will hurt the cost of goods and logistics.

Carlsberg has a huge presence in both Russia and Ukraine. With 8,300 employees, Baltika is one of the largest consumer goods companies in Russia and the market leader in beer with about 27% share, according to information available on the Carlsberg website.

Carlsberg joins rival Heineken (AS:HEIO) and hundreds of other companies that have either quit or curtailed their operations in the Russian market. Heineken Wednesday said it has stopped the production and sale of its own-brand beer in Russia. Its stock traded 1.8% lower in Amsterdam trading.

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -Carlsberg on Wednesday announced the departure of Chief Financial Officer Heine Dalsgaard, who had a leading role in a major cost-cutting programme to stem its losses in Russia.

Shares in the world's third-biggest brewer fell 2.2% at 0945 GMT, underperforming Copenhagen's benchmark index which fell 1.4%.

"This is disappointing for Carlsberg (OTC:CABGY), as CFO Dalsgaard has been instrumental in driving efficiencies in the past years," Kepler analyst Richard Withagen said in a research note.

"We had expected CEO Cees ‘t Hart to step down as Carlsberg moves into the next phase of its strategy. This could now be delayed," he added.

Carlsberg will start the search for a new CFO while Dalsgaard will continue in Carlsberg until Dec. 31 at the latest, it said in a statement.

It entered the Russian market when it bought the Baltika beer brand in 2008 but the Russian growth adventure never took off and Carlsberg has for more than a decade fought tough sales amid a weak and sanction-hit economy and regulations to curb alcohol abuse.

Carlsberg, the Western brewer most exposed to the Russian market, joined rivals Anheuser-Busch InBev and Heineken (OTC:HEINY) in seeking to withdraw from Russia after Moscow invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24.

Po tym jak Anwil podjął decyzję o tymczasowym wstrzymaniu produkcji nawozów azotowych, kryzys dotknął też branżę piwowarską. W czwartek Carlsberg Polska ogłosił, że wstrzymuje produkcję piwa w związku z brakiem dostaw dwutlenku węgla. Jest on niezbędny w procesie warzenia piwa.

Wysokie ceny gazu zmusiły Anwil, należący do PKN Orlen, do tymczasowego wstrzymania produkcji nawozów azotowych. Z kolei Carlsberg Polska został odcięty przez włocławską spółkę od dostaw dwutlenku węgla. To zmusza koncern do wstrzymania produkcji piwa, o czym poinformował serwis "Poradnik Handlowca".

Jak dowiedział się branżowy portal, Carlsberg Polska ma jeszcze dwutlenku węgla na dwa, może trzy dni produkcji. Następnie należące do niego zakłady będą musiały wstrzymać proces warzenia piwa.

New CEO at Carlsberg
Carlsberg has appointed Jacob Aarup-Andersen as its new CEO.

Aarup-Andersen will replace Cees ’t Hart, who will retire by the end of Q3 2023 at the latest. He was previously CEo of facilities management business ISS A/S.

“As part of our ongoing succession planning, the Board has been through a comprehensive assessment of CEO candidates from around the world, with Jacob Aarup-Andersen emerging as the best candidate,” Carlsberg chair Henrik Poulsen said, “Jacob is an outstanding CEO with a strong track record in delivering shareholder value and organic and inorganic growth in addition to driving the ESG and digitisation agendas.”

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Danish brewer Carlsberg on Tuesday lifted its profit guidance for the full year after a "solid business performance" in the first half of the year.

The world's third-biggest brewer said it now expects organic operating profit growth this year of between 4% and 7%, versus a previous range of minus 2% to plus 5%.

"Based on solid business performance year to date and our expectations for the remainder of the year, we are upgrading our full-year earnings expectations for 2023," the company said in a statement.

The Copenhagen-based company said volumes in the January to June period grew 0.8% organically, while organic sales grew 11%. Organic operating profit grew by 5.2% in the period.

Carlsberg's shares were 1.6% higher at 1304 GMT, with the broader Copenhagen benchmark index down 0.7%.

Carlsberg is due to publish a full set of first-half financial results on Wednesday.
