Dell Technologies (DELL) late Thursday matched Wall Street's target for revenue in its fiscal fourth quarter. The Dell earnings news lifted its stock in extended trading.

The Round Rock, Texas-based company generated sales of $23.84 billion in the quarter ended Feb. 1. Dell did not specify its earnings per share in its news release. Analysts expected Dell earnings of $1.81 a share on sales of $23.82 billion.

Notowania Dell idą w dół mimo publikacji przez spółkę dobrych wyników finansowych
Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) opublikowało przedwczoraj dobre wyniki finansowe za czwarty kwartał i cały rok obrotowy. Mimo to wczoraj po południu cena akcji DELL poszła w dół o 7,5% do 40 dolarów. Firma IT okazała dochód netto w wysokości 416 mln dolarów. Zysk na akcję obliczony z zastosowaniem GAAP wyniósł 54 centy, przewyższając konsensus o 17 centów. Skorygowany dochód netto wyniósł 1,7 mld dolarów, a skorygowany zysk na akcję -- 2 dolary (zgodnie z oczekiwaniami). Przychód osiągnął poziom 24,13 mld dolarów i był o 0,5% wyższy niż w zeszłym roku oraz o 210 mln dolarów wyższy niż spodziewali się analitycy. Z raportu finansowego za cały rok wynikał dochód netto w wysokości 5,5 mld dolarów oraz skorygowany dochód netto równy 6,1 mld dolarów. Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) after hours 3% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.80, $0.15 better than the analyst estimate of $1.65. Revenue for the quarter came in at $25B versus the consensus estimate of $23.51B. Announcing a 12% increase in annual cash dividend to $1.48 per common share. CFO to retire.

Investing.com -- Dell Technologies reported Thursday fourth-quarter results that topped Wall Street estimates and the hardware maker hiked its dividend.

The company also announced that Tom Sweet would retire as chief financial officer at the end of Q2. Yvonne McGill, currently corporate controller, will take up the reins as CFO at the start of Q3 fiscal 2024.

Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) jumped 5% in afterhours trading following the report.


The company reported third-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.80 on revenue of $25.04 billion, compared with estimates for $1.65 per share and $23.51B, respectively.
The client solutions group reported a 23% decline in revenue to $13.36B year-on-year in Q4, offsetting 7% growth in its infrastructure solutions group business.

The company also hiked its dividend by 12% to $1.48 a share.

Morgan Stanley raised Dell Technologies Inc (NYSE:DELL) to Overweight from Equal-Weight and HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ) to Equal-Weight from Underweight in a note to clients on Tuesday.

Analysts at the firm also raised their price targets on the stocks, with Dell's lifted to $55 from $45 and HP's increased to $31 from $28 per share.

The analysts wrote that they decided to raise Dell on the back of its attractive valuation, cyclical PC tailwinds, and the fact it has a path toward accelerating shareholder returns.

"Over the past year, DELL shares have underperformed the S&P 500 by 14 points, driven negative earnings revisions and ~2x turns of P/E contraction. However, with the PC market showing signs of bottoming in C1Q23 we are getting more constructive on DELL," wrote the analysts, who added that the PC market is forming a bottom, and they "want to own DELL for the cyclical PC market rebound."

HP was also raised based on the broader market recovery, although the analysts acknowledged that broader risks remain.

"We expect the company to participate in the PC 'trade' via valuation multiple expansion, but risks such as a back-end loaded FCF ramp, slowing capital returns, and a more challenged printing business are likely to limit outperformance," they explained.

Dell shares hit record high after report, forecasts impress with AI in mix

(Reuters) - Shares in Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) Inc rose 22.2% and hit a record high on Friday after it raised full-year financial forecasts with boosts from artificial intelligence (AI) and stabilizing demand for computer hardware after a months-long slump.

The stock last traded at $68.75 after hitting a peak of $70.28 while trading volume was 5.4 times its 10-day moving average. Dell, on track for its biggest ever daily percentage gain, is up more than 70% for the year-to-date.

"Results and guidance corroborated the improving order trends in the broader enterprise vertical" said JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, in a research note.

Dell added to evidence of this trend from CDW (NASDAQ:CDW) Group, Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) and Hewlett Packard Enterprises, according to the analyst.

Dell reported second quarter revenue and EPS above analyst estimates. Servers and networking revenue rose 11% from the first quarter to $4.27 billion, driven by higher demand for AI-optimized servers, Dell said.

While JPMorgan's Chatterjee does not see AI as a primary driver the analyst wrote that "it is helping in the visibility of a recovery with Dell highlighting that 20% of AI orders (in revenues) were for AI-based servers."

At least 10 analysts raised their target prices for Dell's shares after the report with several including Credit Suisse and Evercore ISI citing its position to benefit from AI.

The median price target increased to $68 on Friday from $56 on Aug. 1, Refinitiv data showed.

Included in the more bullish views was Wells Fargo's increase of the target to $75 from $65 and Citigroup (NYSE:C)'s increase to $70 from $60. JPMorgan raised its target to $68 from $61.
