Daimler Truck Holding AG FRANKFURT: DTG - producent samochodów ciężarowych Mercedes.

10.12.2021 - debiut spółki na giełdzie we Frankfurcie

Separacja Daimlera 12.2021

In corporate news, Daimler Truck stock traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday for the first time, at 28 euros per share, after the spinoff of the commercial vehicle maker. Daimler (DE:DAIGn), which will be renamed Mercedes-Benz, has kept 35% of Daimler Truck shares. Daimler's own stock traded down 17% as the unit was stripped out of the parent company's balance sheet.

Daimler Truck shares climb on Frankfurt market debut

FRANKFURT, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Shares in commercial vehicle maker Daimler Truck (DTGGe.DE) edged higher on its market debut in Frankfurt on Friday, marking its long-awaited spin-off from Daimler AG (DAIGn.DE).

The split was announced in February and pitched by the two companies as an opportunity to unlock value in both Daimler Truck and the owner of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and vans.

At 0855 GMT, Daimler Truck shares were trading at 29.03 euros, above their debut price of 28 euros. Daimler shares were down 17%, a technical side-effect of the spin-off.

"We are certain we will create value," Daimler CEO Ola Kaellenius said, speaking to an emptier-than-usual hall in Frankfurt as pandemic restrictions limited the number of attendees.

"Trucks and cars have different requirements. We are thus unleashing the full potential of both companies," he said.

Daimler AG, soon to be renamed Mercedes-Benz AG, has kept 35% of Daimler Truck shares, while 65% were spun off on Friday. Shareholders in Daimler received one share in Daimler Truck for every two Daimler shares they owned.

Daimler Truck is now the world's largest commercial vehicle maker by revenue, but its profit margins lag competitors like Traton's (8TRA.DE) Scania and Volvo Group's (VOLVb.ST) Volvo Trucks.

Its performance is strongest in North America, where it reported an adjusted return on sales so far this year of 10.8%, compared to 7.2% in Asia and just 4.5% in Europe.

"Now is when things really get going for Daimler Truck," CEO Martin Daum said in a statement.

The truckmaker is targeting double-digit profit margins across the business in 2025, up from an expected 6-8% in 2021.

Its focus in coming years will be on boosting sales of electric trucks, which it hopes will constitute 60% of all sales by 2030.

Meanwhile, Daimler said in a statement last week it had earmarked 60 billion euros in spending for Mercedes-Benz between 2022 and 2026, focused on electrification, digitalisation and autonomous driving.

Daimler Truck sees 20% sales growth in 2021

(Reuters) - Newly spun-off commercial vehicle maker Daimler Truck sold 455,000 units in 2021, the company reported on Tuesday, a fifth more than last year but still 13% below pre-pandemic levels.

Supply chain bottlenecks slowed production particularly in the second half in the United States and Europe, the company said in a statement.

Trucks Asia fared best with 30% growth, while the Buses segment did not grow at all, with sales flat at 19,000.

Daimler Truck, which spun off from Daimler last December and is now the world's largest truckmaker by revenue, is due to report its full annual results on March 24.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Daimler Truck, the world’s largest truckmaker that was spun off from Mercedes-Benz last year, will replace real estate group Alstria Office in Germany’s midcap index effective Feb. 11, Deutsche Boerse said.

The change becomes effective since Alstria’s free float, one of the key criteria for index membership, has fallen below 10% as part of a takeover bid by Canada’s Brookfield, the stock market operator said.

Daimler Truck suspends all cooperation with Russia’s Kamaz -Handelsblatt

Updated: Feb 28, 2022, 09:08 GMT+1•1min read
MOSCOW (Reuters) – Daimler Truck has suspended all cooperation with Russia’s largest truckmaker Kamaz, Germany’s Handelsblatt daily reported on Monday, in the face of severe criticism following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Gotowe zestawy zawierające 2800 części trafiały do Rosjan. W 2019 roku zainwestowano 200 milionów euro, by kabiny mogły powstawać na miejscu.

Daimler Truck sees high demand cushioning raw material price impact

BERLIN (Reuters) -Daimler Truck Holding said rising raw materials prices and inflationary pressures could weigh into its second quarter, but the truckmaker expected to continue passing high costs to customers amid record levels of demand.

Once costs begin to decrease again, it could lower customer prices, Chief Financial Officer Jochen Goetz said on an earnings call.

"We are not increasing prices just for the sake of profit, but pure necessity," Goetz said. "If raw materials fall back to the level we had 1.5 years ago, pricing would go down again."

Semiconductor supply bottlenecks were the main cause of inventory backlogs, Goetz said, with chips being shuffled between regions to accommodate orders.

Still, availability was already increasing and the situation should ease significantly in the second half, he said.

The truckmaker still expects to make between 500,000 and 520,000 vehicles this year as previously forecast, but positive exchange rate effects and high demand mean it could boost its revenue to 48 billion-50 billion euros ($52.3 billion) from its previous forecast of 45.5 billion-47.5 billion, it said.

"Daimler (OTC:DDAIF) Truck expects the macroeconomic conditions for global demand for trucks to remain favourable in 2022," it said in a statement.

Revenues rose 17% to 10.6 billion euros in the first quarter, with earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) up 11%. Still, Daimler Truck's adjusted return on sales fell slightly to 5.9% from 6.3% in the same period last year.

By 0802 GMT shares were up 4.3% from Monday's close on the news to 28.12 euros.

"Amid ongoing supply chain challenges and possible consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war on the economy, our practice of fixed-cost management and liquidity security is more important than ever," Goetz said.

Daimler Truck starts production of second electric truck, the eEconic

BERLIN (Reuters) - Daimler (OTC:DDAIF) Truck has started production of its second electric model, an inner-city waste disposal truck named the eEconic, the company said on Friday, as it seeks to capture market share in Europe's tiny but growing electric truck market.

The vehicle will be produced at the same site as the truck and bus maker's first electric model, the heavy-duty truck eActros, in Woerth, Rhineland-Palatinate.

The first eEconic trucks will be sold to a Danish waste disposal firm, with further deliveries planned this year, Daimler Truck said. The first handovers of the eActros took place in February of this year.

Like the eActros, the new truck will cost roughly three times its diesel equivalent. Chief executive Martin Daum has said the electric models would cost a driver about the same in the long run due to lower fuelling costs.

Daimler Truck to keep prices high as demand exceeds supply

BERLIN (Reuters) -Daimler Truck will keep prices high even if certain costs begin to fall in order to compensate for lower margins since last year, the truckmaker said on Thursday, as it reported a 15% rise in earnings in the second quarter.

Energy prices, bottlenecks in China and chip shortages will continue to weigh in the second half even though the company expects some supply chain issues to ease, chief executive Martin Daum said.

"Even if some costs are easing, we have to catch up for the fourth quarter of 2021 ... we will definitely keep our pricing to go back to normal margins," he said on a call with analysts.

The truck and bus maker has said several times this year it is confident strong demand will allow it to keep passing on rising costs of energy and raw materials to customers.

Still, chief financial executive Jochen Goetz said in May price increases were out of "necessity" and would be reversed if raw material prices returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Daimler (OTC:DDAIF) Truck reported a 15% rise in earnings before interest and taxes to 1.01 billion euros ($1.04 billion) in the second quarter, far exceeding analysts' expectations, but adjusted returns were slightly lower than last year at 8% from 8.1%.

First quarter margins were also down from last year, despite higher revenues and earnings.

Trucks are sold out in Europe and North America for 2022 and the company is reallocating scarce chips from countries including Japan and India to serve orders in higher margin markets, it said.

Goetz was optimistic the possibility of further cuts to gas supplies to Germany from Russia would not bring factories to a halt, adding he was more concerned whether suppliers would still be able to deliver.

Competitors Traton and Iveco reported falling second quarter earnings despite rising revenues, due to supply chain issues.

Mercedes Benz (OTC:MBGAF) owned Daimler Truck on Friday introduced Greenlane, the name of its joint venture with NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE) and BlackRock (NYSE:BLK) Alternatives.

The more than $650 million joint venture was formed to design, develop, install and operate a U.S. nationwide, high-performance zero-emission public charging and hydrogen fueling network for.

They also unveiled renderings of the site layout as a major milestone in the development of the project. Greenlane's first site will be in Southern California, and multiple additional sites are being acquired along various freight routes.

Greenlane’s initial focus will be on battery-electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, followed by hydrogen fueling stations for fuel cell trucks, with plans to eventually expand access to light-duty vehicles.

DTNA says details on groundbreaking on the first site will be “revealed soon.”

The network of charging sites will be built on critical freight routes along the east and west coasts and in Texas. Where synergistic, Greenlane will leverage existing infrastructure and amenities while also adding complementary greenfield sites to fulfill anticipated customer demand.

"Greenlane is designed to begin to tackle one of the greatest hurdles to the trucking industry's decarbonization – infrastructure," said John O'Leary, president and chief executive officer, DTNA. "The nation's fleets can only transform with the critical catalyst of publicly accessible charging designed to meet the needs for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Together with our strong partners, BlackRock and NextEra Energy Resources, we are launching Greenlane to address the unique demands of the industry, support our mutual customers, and provide a dual benefit to all electric vehicle drivers who will be able to utilize this new network. We're excited to take this next step and look forward to sharing more of Greenlane's plans in the future."

TOKYO (Reuters) - Daimler Truck Holding AG and Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) Corp have struck a preliminary deal to combine their truck units in Japan, the companies said on Tuesday.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU), the businesses of Daimler-owned Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp and Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors Ltd would be combined under a holding company, they said in a statement.

The shares of the new company are expected to be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's prime market.

The companies see the tie-up as an opportunity to achieve the scale they need to make technological advances, Daimler Truck CEO Martin Daum told a press conference in Tokyo.

"We are accelerating towards zero emissions, but there is one major challenge and this is the required funding," Daum said. "There is only one way to make this parallel tech development work: economies of scale."

The sales organisation globally will remain separate, but the two companies will pursue joint development, procurement and production, he said.

Daimler Truck and Toyota will invest in the company equally and cooperate on the development of hydrogen and other technologies in areas such as connectivity and autonomous driving, their statement said.

Hydrogen would be the "future" of automotive mobility, as it was the solution to carbon neutrality, Daum added.

The companies expect to sign a definitive agreement in the first quarter of 2024 and close the transaction by the end of next year, they said.

Last year a committee tasked with investigating an emissions scandal at Hino, which became a Toyota subsidiary in 2001, found that the truck and bus maker had falsified engine emissions data going back to 2003.

Four Hino executives, including those overseeing production and compliance, stepped down over the scandal last October. President Satoshi Ogiso, who remains in his post, returned half his monthly compensation for six months.

(Reuters) - A severe storm that hit a Mercedes-Benz plant in the central German city of Kassel last week is estimated to have caused damage in the mid-double-digit-million euro range, said Daimler (OTC:MBGAF) Truck in a statement on Friday.

The June 22 storm and flooding that followed damaged roofs, buildings and offices at the plant, which is the global competence centre for electric drive systems and conventional commercial vehicle axles for Daimler Truck, it said.

As repair work continues, the plant is gradually resuming production, Daimler Truck said, while the evaluation of the consequences of the forced shutdown caused by the storm is still ongoing.
